Typical Korean materials for Jajang are the records in Ilyeon(一然)’s SamgugYusaandJajangJeongi(Jajang’s Biography) in OdaesanSajeoggi written by Minji. In relation with Minji’s JajangJeongi, a new version was found at Woljeongsa Temple in the autumn of 2014. With this, it is newly relevant to review ‘the version’ problem and ‘the prototype of Minji’s version’. To solve this problem, Chapter 1 of this paper overviews the versions of OdaesanSajeoggi. Through this, it was found that the system of most prevalent Byung-Jeong Versions(丙․丁本) is later than those of Gab-Eul(甲․乙本). Based on this, the differences between Eul Version, the representative of Gab-Eul versions(甲․乙本), and Jeong Version, the representative of Byung-Jeong Versions(丙․丁本) are checked inChapter II. First, 8 differences between Eul and Jeong Versions are presented and their significance is examinedin Chapter II.This can provide the background to judge the Minji version as the prototype of the material. Next, Chapter III makes a more concrete approach to the causes of changes found in Chapter II. Though this, it is also seen that even in JajangJeongi, Gab-Eul versions were published earlier than Byeong-Jeong versions. This study is very significant in that the former understanding about Minji’s version should be adjusted. Finally, in Chapter IV, the characteristics of Minji’s JajangJeongi are researched along with the review results of former chapters. With this, it can be seen that, unlike the conventional viewpoints, Minji’s JajangJeongi is more faithful to the original material than Ilyeon’s record about Jajang.
