In this research, ‘a classification scheme of ‘ Gyojang Chongnok ’’ and ‘a bibliographical analysis of the existing ‘Jejong Gyojang ’’ are examined to extract the value and meaning of Jejong Gyojang in the Goryeo Period. Major findings are as follows:First, since Jejong Gyojang was carved, based on the structure of Sinpyon Jeong Gyojang Chongnok , a classification scheme of ‘Gang(綱)’ from Gyojang Chongnok . The result shows that:1) Uicheon developed step by step ‘a frame of study’ which was in the order of ‘Gyeong(經) 〉 Non(論) 〉 So(疏) 〉 Uijang(義章) 〉 Sasul(師述) 〉 [Bop]sang[ji] jusok([法]相[之]紬繹) = Gyosang Pansok(敎相判釋) of Cheongtae and Hyeonsu’ in order to understand the meaning of each sutra presented by the Buddha, and figured out that from Non each step explained in detail and specified the higher step to reach the step of Gyosang Pansok. Therefore, he proved that the criteria of a classification scheme of the Gyojang Chongnok was based on Gyosang Pansok.2) It is proved that the whole classification scheme of Gyojang Chongnok is based on ‘the idea of Gyohak(敎學) by Uicheon’ which proceeds ‘① Theory of Sosung (Gusa(俱舍)) → ② Principle of Sigyo (Yuji(唯識)) → ③ Moment of Jongdon (Gisin(起信)) → ④ Awakening of Wonyung (Hwaom(華嚴))’.3) A classification scheme of ‘Gang’ from Gyojang Chongnok is established, based on ‘the idea of Gyohak by Uicheon’ and the integration and application of sutras presented by Wonhyo(元曉), Hyeonsu, and Cheongtae in the reversed order of their titles. The Sinpyeon Jejong Gyojang Chongnok was compiled as a bibliography of acquisitions, and became the base of carving Jejong Gyojang.Second, as a part of a bibliographical analysis of the existing Jejong Gyojang, ① the period and structure of carving Jejong Gyojang and its editions, ② the existing editions of Jejong Gyojang and the related records, ③ people who participated in proofreading the existing editions, and ④ the physical features of Jejong Gyojang are discussed. The results confirm the excellence of carving and printing in the Jejong Gyojang.
